One Girl Empowered is an online leadership program for girls ages 13-18, designed to give girls the tools to become strong leaders, build confidence in themselves, and to help them discover their passion and purpose in the world.
Our One Girl Empowered program was developed by Mpumi Nobiva, top graduate of Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls. She currently holds a Masters Degree is strategic communications from High Point University and serves as the first alumnus on the Board of Directors of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
Girls will receive a video each week for 8 weeks covering topics like:
- Body Image: Instagram vs. Me
- Self Care: From girl to woman
- Mindfulness: Making smart choices
- Leadership: How to talk about what I’m passionate about
- And so much more!
Nompumelelo Nobiva, 26 years-old, has spoken at the United States White House, Congressional Fundraisers, Corporate functions and Nonprofit Initiatives. She grew up in South Africa, and, at age nine, lost her mother to HIV/Aids. Reared in material poverty but spiritual wealth by her grandmother, she excelled at Oprah’s South African school for girls before going to the US to study.
She currently holds a master’s degree in Strategic Communications from High Point University, serves on the Board of Directors of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for girls in South Africa. She travels the world as an international speaker, strategic consultant, growth mindset workshop leader and professional host. She also continues to promote her #ShareYourStory2k17 Unite Against Domestic Violence & HIV/AIDS campaign, launched in July 2017, raising funds to empower the girl children and educate the boy children through partnerships with grassroots organizations and public schools in South Africa.
